Curious how the process works?
| Anytime | Students who want to enroll in the current year can enroll anytime, and if there is space available in their grade, they will be immediately enrolled. If we’re full, they’ll join the waitlist. |
| January 1-March 31 | Priority Enrollment Window for the following year |
| April 1- April 14 | Enrollment requests for the following year are paused |
| April 15 | IF we don’t have enough spots for everyone who submitted enrollment requests during Priority Enrollment, we hold a lottery* |
| Mid-April | Enrollment requests for the following year are resumed, including the waitlist for that year |
*What’s the fine print?
*Charter schools are free and open to everyone; however, there is a catch (isn’t there always a catch?!). Unlike a traditional public school that can accept all district residents who want to enroll, according to our contract with Three Rivers School District, KCA can’t have more than 64 students total. If more students request enrollment during the Priority Enrollment Window (1/1 – 3/31) than we can allow, by law we hold a lottery to determine who will “win” a seat for the following year.
